Free Creative Upcycling Workshops for families – February Half Term, in conjunction with West Sussex County Council
Waste isn’t waste – until it’s wasted! We hope to inspire residents to think before they throw, and to view waste differently – to see it as a resource that can be kept in use for longer.
Venue: Pizza Express Function Room, The Boulevard, Crawley RH10 1XX on the 1st floor
Free creative workshops on simple upcycling and reusing – aimed at families, children aged 7+ (a small play area will be available for younger children) – all children must be accompanied and supervised by an adult. All materials supplied.
Monday 21st February – Turn Old T-shirts into Useful Reuseable Bags and bangles
3 sessions: 10.00am – 11.15am 11.45am – 1.00pm 1.45pm – 3.00pm
Tuesday 22nd February – Decorate a Biscuit! Reduce Food Waste & Save Money too! Workshop
3 sessions: 10.00am – 11.15am 11.45am – 1.00pm 1.45pm – 3.00pm
Wednesday 23rd February - Create Tags and Bookmarks from packaging card and paper
3 sessions: 10.00am – 11.15am 11.45am – 1.00pm 1.45pm – 3.00pm
Friday 25th February – Clothes, Toys and Books Swap & Make Do & Mend Workshop
10am til 11am – Open for Drop Off only (upto 10 items per person. Please ensure items are clean, and in good condition) . This gives volunteers time to sort and put out. No electronic toys please.
Swap opens at 11am til 3pm (last entry 2.30pm) Come and swap items you no longer need – all free
Make Do & Mend – if you want to learn some basic sewing skills; like taking a hem up, sewing a button on, or repairing a small rip, drop in anytime between 11am and 3pm (last entry 2.30pm) – bring a clothing item to repair if you have one.
