Crime Fiction runs the gamut from Cosies to Gritty Noir but there’s one approach which is guaranteed to have lovers of the genre salivating: A top class series. Join two Queens of the Crime-Writing genre as they consider why we love a crime series so much, what makes a series work, when does an author know it’s time to end a series, and whether a standalone can ever give as much pleasure as an ongoing series.
Elly Griffiths, perhaps most famous for her Dr Ruth Galloway Mysteries and the Brighton series, has won the CWA Dagger in the Library, and the Edgar Award in the US, has been shortlisted for the CWA Gold Dagger and has been shortlisted five times for the Theakston’s Old Peculier Crime Novel of the Year.
