About the event
Following another successful event which attracted around 4,300 visitors in 2023, STEM In the Park is returning to the Memorial Gardens in Crawley, on Saturday 18 May 2024.
This popular annual community event will display a festival of STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Maths) related activities for young people and their families to enjoy, so please make a note in your diary.
No booking required, just turn up for this FREE event to participate in numerous STEM activities.
There will be something to enjoy for everyone including engaging science shows, visit space via a pop-up planetarium, discover how to fly a drone, partake in interactive table top displays, acquire careers advice and information from local employers, Higher Education Institutions and Colleges, professional bodies, STEM communicators and educators and more!
STEM In the Park is aimed at inspiring young people to consider STEM subjects and the varied careers available in and within STEM in a fun and inspiring way.
The focus is about getting children excited about STEM early in life and showing them how fun and rewarding a career in STEM sectors can be.
The event offers a chance for parents/carers to speak with local business and exhibitors about vital careers information and the various career routes available to their children in STEM fields including aviation, construction, geoscience and healthcare.
For KS3/4 students, advice can be sought on Apprenticeship Schemes, Industry Placements, Undergraduate Courses and Graduate Programmes.
There will also be extended STEM activities taking place just across the road at Crawley College, which is home to a suite of innovative and interactive spaces, containing virtual and mixed reality technology which puts the college at the cutting edge of training delivery across a range of subjects. Visit their immersive spaces, and check out the new Green Village, showcasing the latest in sustainable technology.
The event is supported by Crawley Borough Council and London Gatwick and delivered by The STEM Hub.
We hope you can join us on the day!
